A Dino Boy Layout.

I started this lo last weekend and added the picture, title and journalling tonight. This layout is a direct scrap lift from the April, 09 Scrapbooks etc. Of course I used different papers and embellishments, but I loved the way it was laid out. I used my left overs from the Night Light line by October Afternoon. It goes perfectly with this pic of Quintin in his halloween costume. I just love that sweet face.

On another note I finished my 2 page lo for the CTMH regionals contest tonight. It took me over 2 weeks! I Will keep you in suspense until I return at the end of April. I think it turned out nice, and I will have a couple more pages completed if nothing else. Saturday was gorgeous here a balmy 13 degrees Celsius. We enjoyed it so much. Today we woke up to rain and it hasn't let up. Lets hope this means spring is here.

A Couple of New Layouts.

Tonight ends March break for us. In some ways I'm happy and in some ways I'm not. It's nice to not have a routine and do what ever we want , stay up late, not worry about being home for bedtime, stay in our p.j.'s all day if we wish... It will however be nice to have that routine back because after about a week without it it tends to reek havoc in our home. Besides that I did get some scrapping' done which makes for a very happy me ;)

This first layout is titled Come Play With Me. It has a picture of my oldest son Drake(he was only 2 at the time)and my brother Kurt playing in the backyard. These pictures are sometimes hard for me to scrap because my brother passed away and I feel pressure to get them just right and not mess them up. I only have so many. Kwim. I was going for simple so that the picture was the focus of the page. I have yet to add the journalling and may choose not to, because this will go in Drake's book eventually and I want him to put his own feelings with it not my sappy emotional ones:) I used the "Night Light" collection from October Afternoon. fab, fab, fab.

This next page is titled Thoughts About My Mom. My mom is a such a strong, proud, loving person. She has been through so much and I rarely hear her complain. Yes she grumbles every now and then, and can sometimes get under my skin because she ALWAYS has to be right(she only gets under my skin because I want to be right too. lol.)but she is always there for us. She always puts us first, she is patient and kind, she's a good cook, she's a wonderful grandmother who actually plays with the kids and is interested in what they have to say, and she's a cleaning machine. I love it when she comes over for a few days and "tidies up" for me. Lets just say I never have to do dishes when she's around and if there's any laundry to be done, she'll find it. But beyond that she is nurturing, like a mom should be, she is loyal, a hard worker and she has a strong sense of faith which is what has gotten her through all the tragedy and loss in our lives. I love you mom.
for this page I used the Fascinating line from Pink Paislee. I love the colours and patterns. I used paint on the edges of the picture and along the red cs strip. I distressed the edges of the patterned papers. Tfl.

Free as a Bird Card.

So what could you use this card for? Maybe your kids are moving out on their own for the first time, or they just graduated from university, someone traveling around the world, or maybe you could give it to a friend who's kids just moved out. Maybe they are the ones who are free as a bird! That's a long ways off for me, and I'm happy about that. Regardless another stamp set I LOVE! I used the fab Bird Basics ss, Key Lime textured cs and, Heavenly Blue and Chocolate ink. I embossed the sentiments in white. The nest is made out of died white paper flowers. I think this is a cute one.

Of course I'm up for blog candy! Are you???

Scrapinlori has some absolutely wonderful blog candy up for grabs! I can't even believe everything she's giving away! She also has some really great artwork, she loves to play with her bellas and of course CTMH stuff. So go check her out at http://www.scrapinglori.blogspot.com before your time is up!

A Different Kind of Thank You Card.

I really like the new stamp set Reach for the Stars by CTMH. It has little spaceships, a rocket, some stars, and a couple of sayings. It's very boyish and I like that since so many stamp sets tend to be girly. I can imagine lots of pages about my boys with it, but I always like to be able to make cards too. This is the one I made. A bit of a different thank you card but I think people appreciate that. It says "you're out of this world". I used orange, ocean, and grey wool. I water coloured the stamped image and did a little stitching. It's kinda cute I think.

Wedding pages

I love the black and white photos from our wedding. They go perfectly with the Silhouette paper pack. These eight pages will go into a 9x9 accordion album. I'm just not that far yet, besides it's easier to take pictures this way. The first page is of my mom walking me down the aisle. I look a little freaked out. LOL! I know I was thinking a lot of thoughts at the time and I was very emotional but I was really worried about falling down as I walked down the aisle towards Mike. It had rained sheets the day before and the ground was still soggy.

This next page is of me lighting candles in memory of my Dad and Brother who had passed away the year before.

Our wedding vows and me doing the I'm trying not to cry look. I'm not very good at holding back the tears at emotional times.
