First Day of School 2014.

They're back at it today!
This guy enters his last year of high school! Eeeeekkkkk!!! Isn't he handsome? :D What an exciting time for him. He is also part of the 1st original graduating class, meaning the school opened the year he started grade 7.

This little lady starts grade 10! She has blossomed into such a loving beautiful young lady. She's so helpful and caring. I'm excited for her to take on some new challenges this year and really spread her wings. I really can see and imagine where she will fit best in the future.

And my little man enters into grade 4! This year he didn't stand beside me as we waited for the class lists to be posted. He went straight to his friends. He didn't look back as they went in the school and he didn't say bye. My momma heart broke a little and at the same time filled with pride at how confident he has become. Ugh it's a fine line we walk as mom's.

So here's to a wonderful joy filled new school year. xo

Q's First Communion.

The Q-Man made his First Communion this spring. It was a lovely ceremony. The church was packed and hot.

There were no pictures allowed during the ceremony. I like that everyone gets to enjoy and participate in it. So these were all taken at the end then outside the church.

With his certificate.

Every now and then we get a nice family shot, of course someone looks away;)

The God parents.

I love when I can get a good shot of these three together. They can be so sweet and loving:)

And finally with Mommy and Daddy.

I hope that this day meant a lot to him and he knows how loved and blessed he is always. xo

Not Every First Day Is A Happy One.

As you can see by the look on my sweet boys face he was not excited or happy to enter kindergarten. Looking back we both shed some tears that day. I just love this photo as it documents a time when his need for us was greater than his need to venture out into that scary new world. Now three years later he is so full of confidence and the knowledge that we will always be there for him just like we were that first day as he broke away from us and later joined us as we met him at the gate at the end of the day.

First Day of School 2011.

The first day of school went really smoothly. Frick and frack got their bus which is a first since there are generally problems the first couple of days.

Photobucket

can you tell that they leave super early?

Photobucket

Compared to him?

Photobucket

They like all of their teachers and classes, and have ALL started some really good homework habits. Mornings are going well due to having everything laid out the night before.

C is not in any of her friends classes, which made her a little sad especially since they are ALL in the same class together but of course she is already making some new friends and she sees her regular crowd at lunch. She will take all of her classes right through the year. Math, Science, Gym, Art, History, Geography, English, French, and Religion. She is on a six day cycle that roates the times of day and classes she takes each day. Some classes she has every day.

D is not in many classes with some of his old friends. Is it bad that I am happy??? He has the academic course load which weeded out some of the less driven students. Because he is in high school now he is semestered so he has Art, Gym, Geography, and Math this term which means English, French, Science, and Religion next term. yikes.

Q is enjoying grade one, he has some of his freinds in his class and some new ones. He has a fantastic teacher and from her rep probably the one of the best in the school! Yay. We haven't had the best of luck with grade one and two teachers so I am thrilled. He has begun his reading program with a book log for every night. They are short so it is pretty easy for now and he is doing well so far.

Here's hoping things continue to go well in the days, weeks, and months ahead. On a side note I'm really happy that fall is coming. love. I'm just kinda ready for winter too. I know. weird. Maybe I can get back to the scrappin' I love and miss so much. :)

I hope you fly.

Little birdies. I hope you fly. I hope you learn, grow, explore, laugh, take chances, change, work hard, and believe in yourself. I hope you know how proud we are of you. I hope you know how much we love you. I hope you do everything whole heartedly. Change is good. Change is a little scary.

C on her birthday two days ago. Yes she has eyeshadow on. No she will NOT be going to school like that;) Tomorrow she enters junior high. She's excited and nervous and happy all at once. I'm excited and nervous all at once but I know she will do fine. I know she is a good girl with a good head on her shoulders. She makes me so proud to be her mom. My hopes for her this year are that she remains true to her, that she finds new challenges and works hard, and that she gets involved in something she is passionate about.

Photobucket

This guy will be starting high school tomorrow. How did that happen? Didn't he just go to kindergarten. He makes my heart swell and hurt all at once. My hopes for him this year are that he developes his talents more, that he works hard academically, and that he becomes more involved in school life.

Photobucket

The Q man lost his first tooth today on the eve of grade one. This pic cracks me up. He is such a firecracker. My hopes for him this year are that he learns to read, gains more self confidence, and loves all the new challenges of grade one.

I hope you fly!

My Cousin is a Wierdo.

One of my favorite pages I made by candlelight. It's just a funny layout and will make our family laugh over it for generations I'm sure. I took this picture after our little hike to feed the chicadees. We stopped at Tim Horton's for a snack and my little clown had to make a funny face while eating. You can tell that J thinks he's just a little Wierd by the look on his face.

Project 12. Face painting.

Better late than never. I did actually have it done on time, I just lost my camera so I couldn't post it. Then I went to hang up the curtains mom made me in my scraproom and there it was.

M: Yes sweetie?

Q: What am I delergic to?

M: Nothing.

Q: Well Romeo, he's delergic to ladybugs!

He makes me smile that kid of mine.

He.

He is our youngest child. Born just a little over six years after our last child. Our little love bug.

He is Our son.

Photobucket

He is sweet.

He is stubborn. Really stubborn. Like his mommy.

He is incredibly shy. Once he feels comfortable with you he becomes the exact opposite. Like his mom.

He is competitive. He is driven to win. Like his Daddy.

He is the cuddle bug. Like his dad.

He is ooooh so picky. Just like momma.

He loves music. Like we both do, however I do believe he sings better than the rest of us.

He is coordinated. Like his Daddy. Definitely like his dad.

He's become a sleeper like his mom. Lots of patients were required.

He is inquisitive. Eager to learn new things. He's like his mom.

He is mischievous. Just like Dad!

He is funny. That kid says the funniest things ever. More like his dad.

He is the sunlight in our day. The piece that completes our puzzle. A masterpiece of OUR love.

I'm gonna miss this.

These pictures of Q always make me laugh. He was only 21/2 months old and already had so much personality. This layout is for a challenge and is about how I'm going to miss those sweet baby days. Well I already do. TFL.

Hallowe'en 2010.

This was probably one of the best Halloween's on record. Despite the snow still lingering on the ground and the chily temperatures, the kids had a blast running from door to door. They said trick-or-treat and thank-you at EVERY DOOR(because in my house you have to ;O)happily, they made small talk and jokes with the elderly, and at times were asked as many as THREE times if this was the kind of chips they liked. (Q lol) We were out for about a hour and a half the first round and another forty-five minutes on round two with Cassidy and her friend. You can always depend on C to keep it going. At home we ran completly out of candy. That was a first. It makes me a little sad to see one of my most favorite holidays come and go. The years are limited I know. Here is a picture of my little Nerd, Scream ghoul, and Pirate.

My 5 Year Old Says the Darndest Things.

Today Quintin brought home his class picture. While we were looking at it he told me who everyone was.

Me: and who is that?
Q: That's Timmy(name changed)
Me: is he your friend?
Q: Yes, but he cries a lot!
Me: Oh, why does he cry?
Q: because he raises his hand to answer questions the teacher asks, and she picks another human.

Heeeeeeeee. He is toooo flippin' cute sometimes.

Wow it's been a long time. Over the past few months many things have taken the place of posting on my blog. Life happens and while I wish I had made more of an effort I also know that my family and sanity have to come first.
Update.
During the summer vacation one of my brew became a teenager. Which I might add he is quite proud of. He has since started the 8th grade.

Photobucket

Another got a massive hair cut, said good-bye to her best friend who moved away, and started the sixth grade.

Photobucket

And the littlest one started kindergarten and resently turned the big 5.

Photobucket

I have been working lots of course, but recently took some time off to visit with my brother who came to visit all the way from Fort Nelson, B.C. over our Thanksgiving holidays.

I have managed to find some time to scrapbook and will be posting those layouts over the coming posts.

Photobucket

For now I hope you enjoy looking at some of my artwork.

My Baby's Big Mess!

Today I would like to share a little story about my little guy. When I got home from my crop my husband said to me, "Just want to prepare you, he kinda got into your stuff." This is what happens when you turn your back for a minute! LOL! Everything WAS put away btw! He saved me the mess to see because he didn't know if I could save any of it. RIGHT!!!! LOL! At least I got the pictures and I can scrap them!

Photobucket
Can you say WOW!
This is his creation in the Sculpting Foam.
Photobucket
My now empty jar of Fun Flock.
Photobucket
And a close up of his beautiful mess! A great mixture of gold embossing powder, white embossing powder, glitter(not yet used), Fun Flock, and GLUE!!!!
Photobucket
This is him explaining that he made a Big mess, and saying, "Sorry Mommy".
Photobucket
And finally him being proud of himself! LOL!
Photobucket
Hope you got a good laugh! I was upset when it happened but you can't always sweat the small stuff. Or the big messes! LOL!
