My Little Man Graduate's.

Yesterday was a big day in our house. My son, our first born, graduated from elementary school. In September he will be off to Junior high. I was an emotional mess of course. I'm so very proud of him and all that he has accomplished and I'm a bit scared about entering this new but very exciting phase of his life. The ceremony was great. They all came in 2 by 2, (one for the immersion class, one for the extended class) and placed lanterns that they had made the week before in the middle of the isle as they headed to the front to take their seats. Children of the Light was the theme. After this the Principal spoke, they did the Para-liturgy, and the Awards presentations. There were 12 award categories, and Drake took the Visual Arts Award. What a moment for him. (o.k. for me too), he really did deserve it, he is very talented and modest about it. His teacher said to him,"Drake, make sure that you show your work to many people, don't hide your talent, it is going to bring you to great places... Wow, what a wonderful thing for her to say to him. I was trying not to sob.
After this they had the Diploma presentations, the Teacher's farewell speech, Valedictorians ( to cute for words), Dedication, and slide show. It was wonderful. I am so very proud of him, he is a smart, caring, kind, sensitive, helpful, creative, talented, inquisitive, and funny child. We were truly blessed the day he was given to us.

first thing in the morning of the big day.

End of Year Teacher Card.

I've been a little absent from the blogging world lately, with so much going on. To top it all off I've been really sick. It started last Saturday with a sore throat and progressed into the flu/strep throat/sinus infection. Yuck.
My. nose. is. raw.
I'm hoping that I am on the mend. I need to be better.
My oldest is graduating from grade six on Friday:) I'm so very proud of him. He's a smart cookie that one, he's also caring and sensitive and inquisitive.
Poor guy got sick too and missed his end of year trip with all his friends/classmates.
So this year I have decided that I am only making cards for the teachers end of year gifts and including a gift card, easy. I need easy right now. This is one of five teacher cards I will need to make then there are a few little ones that I will do and maybe get a box of chocolates for. Ever wonder what a teachers end of year loot looks like? I often do and try to think of things that they will use and not end up somewhere else.
I feel as though I just rambled there, sorry about that. I hope you like the card. Most supplies by Close to my Heart. Have a great night.

Look at Our New Friends!

Just as we're getting ready to move we seem to have made an impression on these fine feathered friends.

Aren't they cute? They come right up to our door and tonight I let Cassidy give them some bread. I assume that it is fine seeing as how so many people feed the ducks bread at the park. They probably have a nest fairly close by and it would have been nice to see little chicks in the coming weeks but oh well I guess we can't take them with us. I hope that you all have a wonderful weekend. Here's hoping the rains finally stops tonight and we don't have move in torrential down pours.

I'm so excited! This is my first, second and third blog award! I received the friendship blog award from Jamie .
Thank you so much! You know how much I love your blog and artwork!
The friend award comes with the following description to be added and passed along. "These blogs are exceedingly charming. These kind bloggers aim to find and be friends. They are not interested in self-aggrandizement. Our hope is that when the ribbons of these prizes are cut, even more friendships are propagated" It also says: "Please give more attention to these writers. Deliver this award to eight bloggers who must choose eight more and include this cleverly-written text into the body of their award."
I also got the lemonade stand award from both Jamie and Lori. Thank you both so very much, again you both know how much of a fan I am of your artwork! The rules of the award (to pick up the Lemonade Stand Award):Comment on this blog.Cut and paste the award logo and use it in your own blog. Nominate 5 to 10 blogs you feel show great attitude and gratitude. Link to your nominees within your blog post.- Comment on their blogs to let them know they've received the award. Link back to the person who gave you the award to show your appreciation.
These are the great people with blogs I adore that I'm forwarding these 2 awards to: I hope you all have a wonderful day!

She's so lovely.

My daughter. I think she's lovely. Inside and out. She has a beautiful personality, she's smart and caring, funny and charismatic, she makes friends easily, she's outgoing, and of course she's beautiful to me. These pictures were taken on her birthday. I love that I captured the essence of her at this time. I really believe the little saying I used. It says, Be yourself... everyone else is taken.
